Lori WeitznerColor Synesthetically: How Color Can Impact Our State of Wellbeing

Color is more than a visual experience—it is a powerful design tool that shapes how people think, feel, and interact with their environments. In this immersive presentation from Lori Weitzner, designers will explore the synesthetic qualities of color and discover how thoughtful applications of color, pattern, and materiality can support well-being, productivity, restoration, and emotional connection. Attendees will leave with a new perspective on using color intentionally to create spaces that resonate on a deeper human level.

Darla Ferreira & Jacky UlloaMastering the Paint Specification: Specify with Confidence

Take the guesswork out of paint specification. A well-written finish schedule does more than identify a paint color. It protects design intent and helps set projects up for success. Join Benjamin Moore Architectural & Design Representatives Jacky Ulloa and Darla Ferreira for a practical session on writing clear, effective specifications that save time, reduce costly mistakes, and deliver the performance your projects demand. Gain insights on selecting the right products, avoiding common pitfalls, and specifying with confidence from concept through completion.

John McClainFrom Beautiful to Booked: How to Turn Your Website Into a Client-Conversion Tool

Many interior design websites are visually stunning, but they function more like digital portfolios than effective sales tools. They showcase beautiful work without clearly guiding prospective clients toward the next step.
In this session, John McClain will show interior designers how to create a website that does more than look polished. It should speak directly to the right client, communicate the value of the designer’s services, build trust, and make it easier for qualified prospects to inquire.
John will also address a common challenge for designers: the discomfort around selling. A well-structured website does not need to feel pushy or overly promotional. Selling is a form of serving. When potential clients can quickly understand who you help, what you offer, and how to move forward, the website begins doing much of the early sales work before the first consultation ever takes place.
Attendees will leave with a practical homepage layout they can follow to turn their website from a beautiful online portfolio into a more strategic tool for attracting and converting the right clients.

David ZylaUnlock the Transformative Power of Color with David Zyla

Color influences far more than aesthetics—it shapes perception, emotion, confidence, and connection. In this session, internationally recognized stylist and author David Zyla explores how understanding personal color can strengthen client relationships, elevate design outcomes, and create interiors that feel authentic to the people who inhabit them. Drawing on decades of experience in fashion, television, and personal styling, David offers a fresh perspective on color as one of design's most powerful communication tools.

Paul Adams & Joni BurdenDecode, Negotiate, Deliver: Master the Margin in Interior Procurement

Design is your passion, but procurement often determines profitability. In this session, you'll gain a clearer understanding of pricing structures, vendor relationships, and procurement workflows that directly impact project margins and operational efficiency.

Through practical examples and candid discussion, we'll explore how successful firms negotiate effectively, strengthen manufacturer partnerships, streamline procurement processes, and reduce costly administrative bottlenecks. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies to improve profitability while delivering a stronger client experience.

Paul AdamsLight and the Human Experience: Designing for Health, Mood, and Well-Being

Light is one of the most powerful yet underutilized tools in shaping human experience. In this session, we'll look at how light influences circadian rhythm, mood, focus, and overall well-being, and why that makes lighting one of the most powerful tools a designer has. Drawing on research in human-centric lighting and real project examples, we'll cover practical ways to specify for health outcomes, balance daylight with layered artificial light, and use spectral and tunable technology to support how people actually live and work in a space. Attendees will leave with a clearer framework for treating light as a wellness decision, not just an aesthetic one, and specific strategies they can bring to their next project.

Erin ReeceThe Money Story You’re Living In

Financial decisions shape every design business, yet many firm owners approach them with uncertainty rather than strategy. In this candid session, Erin Reece explores the beliefs and behaviors that influence financial decision-making and shares practical frameworks for building stronger financial systems, improving confidence around money, and creating healthier, more profitable businesses. Through storytelling and actionable insights, attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of the relationship between mindset, profitability, and long-term business growth.

Joni Burden, Nicole Hollis, Lewis Heathcote & Khoi VoSourcing with Certainty: Protecting Margins from Specification to Installation

Design execution requires more than creativity—it requires disciplined systems, clear accountability, and proactive risk management.

In this session, industry leaders will discuss the operational realities of specification, procurement, and installation, including scheduling challenges, vendor coordination, installation risks, and the hidden costs that can impact project profitability.

Attendees will learn practical approaches to managing vendor relationships, reducing costly errors, improving project oversight, and protecting margins from initial specification through final installation.

John McClainProfit Beyond Projects: Pricing Smarter and Creating New Revenue Streams

Interior designers are often taught how to get more clients, but not necessarily how to build a business that creates more profit, flexibility, and long-term opportunity. In this presentation, John McClain shares how designers can strengthen the profitability of their core design business through smarter pricing while also identifying new ways to generate revenue from the knowledge, systems, and expertise they have already built.

Katherine SandozArt + Design Criticism

Strong creative leadership depends on the ability to articulate design decisions with clarity and confidence. This interactive workshop introduces practical frameworks for analyzing and critiquing art and design regardless of discipline—from objects and interiors to architecture and the built environment. Attendees will strengthen their critical thinking, refine their creative point of view, and develop language that supports more effective collaboration with clients, consultants, and industry partners.
